Andrew Plaisier | Cello
Andrew is a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned two Master's degrees in cello performance and chamber music. His career has taken him all over MI and given him many performing opportunities, including Orchestre de la Francophonie in Montreal and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO. He teaches a full studio of cello students and enjoys mountain biking, water skiing, and board gaming in his free time.
Ruth Vanden Bos | Violin & Piano
Ruth is a dedicated member of the Grand Rapids music scene. Following her bachelor's degree in violin performance, she established a private studio and started performing in chamber groups and house concerts. She spent summers at international music festivals, including IMFA (Italy) and VSOI (Canada.) She loves performing with different artists and has collaborated with The Brilliance, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant. She has also been a wedding photographer for over 14 years and enjoys immersing herself in the wedding world!
Fun fact: we’re a married couple who met through chamber music!

Weddings can be unpredictable, but we're prepared for the unexpected! We've spent years practicing ways to arrange and time your music tastefully, no matter how long it takes for your ringbearer to get down the aisle. :) Recordings depend on sound equipment and amplification, and are tricky to start and stop "just right." We adapt each live performance to complement the timing of your ceremony, and the evolving energy levels of your cocktail hour or reception.

We are Ruth and Andrew, professional musicians based in Grand Rapids with extensive wedding experience. We create music tailored to your preferences. We are able to provide cello, violin, and/or piano arrangements for your event, with the option to include additional musicians if you're looking for a bigger sound.

Our joy shows when we play, and it should: these are some of the most important songs of your life! Music powerfully shapes the way you feel on your wedding day, and how you remember it. These are the songs that'll cause you to reminisce when you hear them on the radio or in a restaurant. They're the melodies that connect you and your loved ones, transcending time. We look forward to creating the roots of these memories for you.

Maybe a Beatles hit reminds you of a loved one. Maybe you’re obsessed with Lord of the Rings, or (thanks to Bridgerton) are realizing just how cool Ariana Grande sounds on acoustic instruments. Maybe you love classical music but are hoping for something more memorable than Canon in D (which we’ll happily play, by the way.)
